These two 19 years old boys are from Mumbai and are Standford dropouts.
Aadit Palicha and Kaivalya Vohra are stuck in the Mumbai apartment due to Covid Pandemic.
Then these bachelors did not have the option to buy groceries in stores. Due to the lockdown in 2020, all the grocery stores were shut down.
So, they relied on online grocery platforms such as Bigbasket and others.
But these platforms were taking more the 4 to 5 days to deliver the grocery. This made them frustrated and started thinking about a solution.
Then they started Kirana stores during the lockdown where they tied up with the local retail stores for online grocery delivery.
But the startup did not scale because local Kirana stores were not able to meet up the demand on time. Even customers were also looking for speedy grocery delivery.
Then finally in April 2021, they started the Zepto startup which promised to deliver the grocery to their doorstep in 10 minutes.
These quick commerce businesses have taken all other startups by storm. Then 10 minutes delivery became a new sensation in the startup ecosystem.
Now, this startup is now valuing over $900 million. Zepto startup had gained attention from across Indian states like Kolkata, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Noida, Gurgaon, and Hyderabad.
