Sri Lankan cricketer Lasith Malinga retirement surfaces across social media. A 38-year-old Malinga officially made an announcement of his retirement on September 14th, 2021.

All the fans across the globe were showcased their love and respect towards him. Malinga had a unique style of bowling angle from others. 

This unique behavior put him in the limelight. Even his ability of bowling unplayable yorkers made him the Legend bowler of all time.

Besides, Malinga was a tough bowler to face. Lasith Malinga retirement was shocking to all. He took the decision after the Sri Lanka selection committee had not selected him for the t20 world cup 2021.

Lasith Malinga was only playing t20 cricket but now he retires from all the formats. Previously, Malinga took retirement in the ODI cricket in 2011.

In order to focus only on white-ball cricket. Even his unique style of bowling did not facilitate to bowl long over in test cricket.

Further, in 2019 Malinga retires from the ODI 2019. His frequent injuries made him take the decision. Even he could not able to come out with the best figures after the injuries. His whole natural rhythm of bowling has been affected.

But Lasith Malinga was one of the dangerous bowlers in the history of cricket. With his magnificent figures in ODI, Malinga was successful in taking 338 wickets in 220 innings.

Even he was also a successful bowler in t20 format as well. He was able to take 107 wickets in the respective format. Besides, Malinga also representing Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League(IPL). He manages to take 170 wickets in the IPL tourney.

Lasith Malinga was also lead Sri Lanka in the 2014 t20 world cup. Besides, he finally came out as a winning captain of Sri Lanka in 2014. In the finals, Sri Lanka was successful in winning against team India.

Sri Lankan Player Lasith Malinga made his debut in 2004. Anusha Samaranyake and Champaka Ramanayaka were duo who gave training to the Malinga. He played his last internationals in March 2020.

Lasith Malinga took to social media to announce his retirement from t20 cricket. Malinga has his youtube channel named ” Lasith Malinga”. On the youtube channel, he frequently comes live with his teammates and also providing an analysis of the series.

But on September 14th, 2021, Lasith Malinga posts his video about his retirement. Initially, Malinga showcases his recent achievements of taking 4 wickets in 4 balls against New Zealand. He took the wickets of Munro, Rutherford, de Grandhomme, and Ross Taylor.

Lasith Malinga gave a glimpse of his latest achievement. Then he portraits his whole journey with series of photos. The photos include some of the important moments like WC 2011, Mumbai Indians finals, and his ODI retirement.

Eventually, Malinga shows his gratitude to all the fans, franchise, players, and support staff. Besides he said, ” I want to 100% rest to my t20 bowling shoes”. I imply that he will not play any more t20 cricket.

Even he conveys his gratitude for Sri Lankan Cricket Board, Mumbai Indians, Melbourne Stars, Kent Cricket Club, Rangpur Riders, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Maratha Arabians, and Montreal Tigers. He was part of all the franchises and gain a lot of valuable insights into the cricket experience.

Finally, he desires to guide and share his experience with the young budding cricketers. So we can expect Lasith Maligna as the future bowling coach of any team. At the end of the video, he kept his sports shoes on the table. Then he kissed the cricket ball and kept it between the shoes.
